Find a partner to exercise with.  It makes it more enjoyable and it holds both people at a higher level of accountability to get the workouts in.

Set small attainable goals.  Even setting a goal to lose a half of a pound or a pound a week is something attainable.  When you are able to attain your goals you are more likely to keep pushing to do more.  Also set longer term attainable goals.  When you reach those goals reward yourself with a massage or a new pair of shoes!

Don’t just diet.  Make healthy eating and healthy behaviors a daily routine that you will do for the rest of your life.  Commit to having at least five full cup servings of fruits and vegetables every single day.  They are full of nutrients and vitamins your body needs and filling up on those is going to crowd out other high calorie foods.  Make working out a part of your weekly routine.  Give yourself a day of rest so you rejuvenate and not dread the next work out.  Cut out fast food all together.  The calories just aren’t worth it!
